Every registered domain has no less than 2 Name Server records which show where it's hosted i.e. by using these records you direct your domain name to the servers of a specific website hosting provider. This way, you have both your site and your e-mails managed by the same service provider. On the lower level of the Domain Name System (DNS), however, there is a variety of other records, such as A and MX. The former reveals which server manages the website for a given domain and is always an IP address (123.123.123.123), while the second one shows which server manages the e-mails and is always an alphanumeric string (mx1.domain.com). For example, whenever you enter a domain name in your Internet browser, your request is directed through the global DNS system to the company whose NS records the domain uses and from there you could be sent to the servers of a different provider in case you have set an IP address of the latter as an A record for your domain. Having separate records for the site and the e-mails means that you could have your site and your emails with two different companies if you wish.

Custom MX and A Records in Cloud Website Hosting

If you have a Linux cloud website hosting from our company, you're going to be able to view, create and modify any A or MX record for your domain names. As long as a specific domain name has our Name Servers, you're going to be able to change certain records by using our Hepsia hosting CP and have your site or e-mails pointed to any other service provider if you would like to use only one of our services. Our advanced tool will enable you to have a domain address hosted here and a subdomain below it to be hosted someplace else by changing only its A record - this will not affect the main domain name in any way. If you want to use the e-mail services of a different company and they want you to create more than two MX records, you can easily do that with just a few mouse clicks in the DNS Records section of your Control Panel. Also you can set different latency for every single MX record i.e. which one will have priority.

Custom MX and A Records in Semi-dedicated Hosting

Accessing and editing the A or MX records for each of your domains or subdomains is really easy if you buy a semi-dedicated server plan through our company. The accounts are maintained through our in-house built Hepsia CP, which features a section dedicated to the DNS records of your domain addresses. The latter will be listed alphabetically and you could click on each of them to see both the A and the MX records. Editing any record will be as easy as entering the new one in a text box and saving the change, so even though you may have never dealt with such matters before, you won't encounter any troubles if you wish to point your site or emails to some other company while keeping the second service with our company. If required, you may also set up additional MX records and set a certain priority depending on the recommendations of the new provider.
